Almost Home Arizona Boxer Rescue's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome purebred boxers. To provide appropriate medical care on every dog we take in, regardless of the condition or cost. To know the temperament of every dog we place, to the best of our ability, and to disclose any information about our dogs prior to adoption. To carefully choose our forever homes based on the needs of the dog and the requirements of the family. To offer on-going support, before and after placement, to ensure a happy and life-long relationship. To educate the public on the boxer breed and the benefits of spaying and neutering their pets. To do as much as possible to help and benefit the boxer breed while recognizing our limitations.

Arizona Animal Rescue and Sanctuary is a non-profit organization working with the community to reduce euthanasia and to find forever homes for healthy adoptable dogs and cats. One thing that sets us aside from other animal rescue groups is that we are also a "sanctuary" for dogs and cats that are unable to be placed in homes due to medical conditions and age. For more information or to get involved - please check us out at www.azars.org.

The Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL) is the state's oldest and largest no-kill shelter. AAWL rescues dogs and cats from other shelters where they might otherwise be euthanized. AAWL behaviorally screens all of its dogs and cats in order to make pet-person matches that will last a lifetime and AAWL behaviorists are leaders in the animal welfare field. AAWL also offers a wide range of services to the community including behavior training classes, a free behavior helpline and education classes for children and adults. AAWL's dynamic volunteer and foster programs provide countless opportunities for members of the community to work with homeless animals in need of extra TLC. In addition, the AAWL Thrift Store provides great deals for the discriminating shopper, with all of the proceeds directly supporting the Arizona Animal Welfare League.

The Arizona Humane Society (AHS) was founded in 1957 by a compassionate group of volunteers who recognized the need to end animal suffering in the community. Since our establishment, we have grown remarkably to become Arizona's largest, nonprofit animal-welfare and protection agency. A 501 (c) (3) agency, we are funded by charitable donations and service fees and do not receive any government funding or tax revenue. We provide programs and services, including: animal sheltering and pet adoptions; the Emergency Animal Medical Technician (EAMTT) animal-rescue and cruelty investigation program; low-cost spay/neuter and wellness services; mobile spay/neuter and animal wellness services in rural and impoverished areas of Arizona and the Southwest; the Stardust Humane Education program which emphasizes respect and compassion for all living beings; the Second Chance Animal HospitalT for sick, abused and injured stray animals; and Project SafeHouse and Project Active Duty to aid the pets of domestic violence victims and activated members of the U.S. military. Foothills Animal Arscue (FAR) is a non-profit, volunteer organization established in 1995. The mission of FAR is to provide shelter, care and adoption services for many of the thousands of domestic cats and dogs that stray, cecome lost or are abandoned each year in Maricopa County. FAR also provides animal adoption services for pet owners who, due to circumstances, must give up thier animal.
Domestic cats and dogs are not equipped to survive without human support. Most lost or abandoned animals quickly become malnourished and many are injured making them easy prey for the area's coyotes and hawks.
FAR maintains a no-kill policy and all sheltered animals are cared for until such time as a suitable adoption is arranged.
All animals offered for adoption by FAR have been given medical attention and are in good health. Additionally, all animals have been spayed or neutered to help reduce current over population.

HELPING ANIMALS LIVE ON
(602) 971-9222
www.halorescue.org
Helping Animals Live On (HALO) specializes in small breed dogs and is a great resource for potential adopters who are restricted by their living situation (i.e. apartments or condos with size restrictions). At HALO staff and volunteers know each animal's personality since most animals spend several weeks with the staff and volunteers before being adopted. Also, many of HALO's animals have been raised in a home environment, which allows HALO to have a better understanding of the animal's housebreaking history, how they behave when left alone, etc. HALO's adoption fee covers the cost of spaying or neutering, vaccinating, and a registered microchip. HALO also has cats available for adoption in 7 different local PetSmart Adoption Centers, so chances are there is an Adoption Center near you.

Sun Valley Animal Shelter is the only shelter on the West side. Sun Valley cats enjoy a cage-free environment, while Sun Valley dogs have playtime and walks several times a day. Our shelter facility also has a Barker's Club Lounge, which looks a bit like a living room. Here Sun Valley dogs can spend some much needed chill-out time or even be introduced to other dogs that potential adopters bring in. The shelter is very clean and has friendly staff and volunteers who are happy to help you.
